Hello. My conjecture is that you are reading this document
because you sent me an email and I directed you here.
First, let me apologize for the form-letter response.
I literally receive hundreds of requests for information
and I just don't have the time to give
everyone a personal reply. As a result, some of what is
written below might not apply to your question.
The Statistics Department has funding to offer three lecture
sections of Stat 301 during Summer 2010. At the time of my posting
this message, all three sections are filled. Please note:
As the instructor of this class, I HAVE NO AUTHORITY TO
LET ANYONE INTO THE CLASS. Thus, please don't ask me to do so.
There is no waiting list for these courses; the only way to
get in is to be very very lucky and `connect to registration'
right after somebody drops. Historically, most drops
occur in the last few days before the class begins.
I am sorry that the UW is not able to meet your needs. If
you literally need Stat 301 on your transcript, you might
check into `distance education' b/c 301 is offered
as a `correspondence course.' (Sorry, I have no details.)
If you `simply' need a statistics class before you enter
nursing/medical/grad school in the fall, I suggest you
investigate some other schools in the area: MATC, Edgewood,
Beloit; other UW campuses.
Good luck.
