Extra Question: If X_1 has mean 1 and variance 5 while X_2 has
mean -2 and variance 3, and X_1 and X_2 are independent r.v.'s,
find  E( X_1 - 2 X_2 + 8 ) and Var( X_1 - 2 X_2 + 8 ).
