Two Uniformly Distributed Parameters Defining Catalan Numbers

Consider the 2n choose n lattice paths of n upstrokes
and n downstrokes. The number of upstrokes above the base line--northcount--and the number of upstrokes left of the (leftmost) highest
point--westcount--both have uniform distributions. This note gives a
simple bijection explaining why.
