Midwest Statistics Research Colluquium

Major statistics and biostatistics departments in the Midwest are sponsoring the Fifth Midwest Statistics Research Colloquium. The first four colloquia were held in the spring of 2008, 2009 and 2010 at the University of Chicago. The 2011 colloquium was here in Madison. As with these colloquia, the program for the fifth colloquium will be inclusive, recognizing the importance of first-rate theoretical work, computational work, and serious applied work.

We are holding this colloquium to give visibility to quality research by students and faculty at all levels in some seventy departments in the Midwest and also to give everyone a chance to form new friendships, new collaborations, and obtain new ideas without having to travel a significant distance. We also want participants to enjoy a day of relaxation in a scholarly environment.

The fifth colloquium will be held at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus from 1pm on Friday, March 16, through 1pm on Saturday, March 17, 2012. Online registration is mandatory for all participants. Registration will be capped at approximately 100 attendees.
