General Advising Information on Courses and Undergraduate Majors:
Statistics Courses: 201, 224, 301
- For transfer credit, contact Statistics Department Curriculum and Degree
Requirements Committee. (Department Office 262-2598)
- If course/section you are interested in is closed, keep trying to register
and speak with the instructor the first day of classes (not sooner). (The
instructor does not have authority to override registration limits.)
- If you are currently enrolled in Stat 201, 224, or 301, and might need
some additional help beyond the regular lecture and TA discussion sections,
the Department offers a free tutoring service. Refer to the
Department of Statistics
Tutorial Lab for more details.
Statistics Courses: 302 and higher-numbered
- For specific questions on course content, it is best to contact the
instructor for the course. (Call Dept. Office 262-2598 if you need help
determining/locating the instructor.)
- For general questions, contact the Department Undergraduate Advisor (Rick
Nordheim) at nordheim@stat.wisc.edu
or 263-5812.
Undergraduate Majors in Statistics
- If you would like to declare a major in Statistics, or if you want to
learn more about our undergraduate majors programs, please contact Dept.
Undergraduate Advisor (Rick Nordheim) at
nordheim@stat.wisc.edu or 263-5812.
We emphasize the point that by virtue of the nature of the discipline of
Statistics and the modest Statistics course requirements for the major,
Statistics may often be appropriate to consider for a second or additional
major.
